Introduction to Personality Dimensions®
Audience Size:
14 - 22 participants
Time Requirement: 3.5 hours

During this workshop, the facilitator guides participants through the Personality Dimensions® assessment tool. This tool helps participants to better understanding themselves and others so they can be more effective in their personal and work relationships.

Personality Dimensions® is based on leading-edge research into human motivation and behaviour and helps to explain what motivates behaviour in people with different personalities or temperaments. It is a Canadian program that provides an easily understood methodology for building self-awareness, self-esteem and effective communication strategies. Personality Dimensions® emphasizes the self-discovery process, and uses cards and group activities to engage the participant and reinforce learning. Visit the Personality Dimensions® website for more information.

Reframing Conflict
Audience Size: Variable
Time Requirement: 1.5 hours

Many organizations value cultures of innovation and inclusions – cultures often characterized by change and stakeholders with many different backgrounds and interests. Surprisingly, these same organizations hesitate when encountering conflict - one of the natural consequences of environments characterized by constant change and differences in individual interests.

Through sharing personal experiences working in conflict, the facilitator will work with participants to reframe conflict as a valuable opportunity for learning more about themselves and others. The workshop will cover tips and tricks on how to develop the skills required to both become more comfortable in navigating conflict and capitalize on the opportunities for personal and professional development that conflicts present.

Exploring Conflict With Personality Dimensions®
Audience Size:
14 - 22 participants
Time Requirement: 1 Day (8 Hours)

Helping parties in conflict focus on the underlying needs, values and beliefs that support the positions they have taken can be key in resolving any disputes. Focusing on these core issues can help identify common ground for moving forward.

Personality Dimensions® can help individuals develop both an understanding of core needs, values and beliefs underlying many conflicts and a basic terminology to use when helping clients to explore the roots of their conflict.

This one-day workshop takes participants through the Personality Dimensions® assessment and interactive group activities, where they will:

  • Identify their personal styles and how they (and others) respond to conflict

  • Appreciate the diverse ways individuals can experience and manage conflict

  • Examine barriers to conflict resolution

  • Learn to adapt to manage conflict in less than ideal situations

  • Recognize the different ways people act and react when experiencing conflict

Temper your Temperament: Understanding and Managing Interpersonal Conflict
Audience Size: 14 - 22 participants
Time Requirement: 2 Days (16 Hours)
Offered in partnership with Conrad Grebel University College as part of their Certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation.

This expanded version of the Exploring Conflict With Personality Dimensions® workshop includes a second day focused on practical applications of workshop material in the workplace.

Day One of the workshop provides tools to determine participants’ temperaments, explore the core needs and values associated with their temperaments, and an opportunity to engage with others to explore how different temperaments can contribute to interpersonal conflict. After Day One, individuals will be able to:

  • Identify their personal styles and how they (and others) respond to conflict

  • Appreciate the diverse ways individuals can experience and manage conflict

  • Examine barriers to conflict resolution

  • Learn to adapt to manage conflict in less than ideal situations

  • Recognize the different ways people act and react when experiencing conflict.

Day Two of the workshop focuses on the application of the concepts learned during Day One to practical conflict management work. After participants engage in an activity designed to review the concepts from Day One, they will be led through a series of facilitated discussions to identify how an exploration of Personality Dimensions® may add additional insight into:

  • Participants’ understanding of basic conflict management principles

  • How meetings, conflict coaching, and mediation sessions could be designed to better accommodate a diverse range of temperaments.

Visit the Personality Dimensions® website for more information about this assessment tool.
