Jeremy Steffler

Jeremy is an engineer by training, getting his start in environmental engineering consulting before transitioning into the post-secondary education sector. Throughout his career, Jeremy’s experience working with clients and teams in a variety of sectors fostered an appreciation of the importance of both effective conflict management skills and welcoming workplaces. Jeremy founded Mentedge Consulting to empower individuals and organizations to reach their full potential, by sharing his conflict management, diversity, and inclusion experience, including:

  • Jeremy completed the Certificate in Conflict Management and Mediation Program offered at Conrad Grebel University College and has acted as an instructor for this program since 2013.

  • Jeremy actively volunteers in his local community, currently supporting restorative justice, diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. He is a mediator with Community Justice Initiatives and current chair of the Waterloo Region Rainbow Coalition. He has also been an instructor for the University of Waterloo’s Student Leadership and Principles of Inclusivity certificate programs, and is a founder and past chair of the Rainbow Community Council.

Jeremy’s efforts have been recognized on a number of occasions, including:

  • Being named as one of Waterloo Region’s Top 40 Under 40 by the Waterloo Region Record in 2013.

  • Being awarded the University of Waterloo Faculty Association’s Status of Women and Equity Committee Equity and Inclusivity Award in 2014.

  • Honoured with the Silver Award in Facilitated Programs from the Institute of Performance and Learning in 2015 for the University of Waterloo’s Inclusivity Series,. The Inclusivity Series includes a Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity workshop Jeremy created to support this program
